DR. IYAD ABUMOGHLI, Founder and Director of the United Nations Environment Programme Faith for Earth Initiative, has more than 35 years of experience with international organizations, the private sector, and scientific institutions. Dr. Abumoghli’s expertise focus on strategic planning, sustainable development, natural resources management, knowledge and innovation and interfaith collaboration. Dr. Abumoghli is currently UNEP’s Lead Principal Advisor on Engaging with Faith-Based Organizations. Previously Dr. Abumoghli held several leading positions including as UNEP’s Regional Representative in West Asia, Director of Knowledge and Innovation at UNDP’s Regional Office for the Arab States, Senior Environment Advisor at UNDP’s Arab States, Global Practice Manager for the Energy and Environment Group in New York, Assistant Resident Representative of UNDP in Jordan. Dr. Abumoghli holds a doctorate degree in Engineering from the University of Bath/UK, and an outstanding graduate of the Virtual Development Academy – Johns University

DAVID HALES, Trustee of the Parliament of the World’s Religions, is a founding member and chair of the Parliament’s Climate Action Task Force and co-author of Faith for Earth. He has served as President of the College of the Atlantic, Chair and President of Second Nature, the managing organization of the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment, and as Director of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. He led environmental policy and sustainability programs for the US Agency for International Development. As a diplomat, he has represented the USA in numerous negotiations on climate change, urban affairs and policy, and biodiversity. He served in the Carter administration as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Interior. He was the first American to serve as Chair of the World Heritage Convention.

DR. KUSUMITA P. PEDERSEN, Trustee of the Parliament of the World’s Religions, is Professor Emerita of Religious Studies at St. Francis College and Chair of the Interfaith Center of New York.She is also a member of the Climate Action Task Force (CATF) of the Parliament of the World’s Religions and of the Climate Working Group of the Committee of Religious NGOs at the United Nations. She is co-author of Global Ethics in Practice: Historical Backgrounds, Current Issues and Future Prospects (Edinburgh University Press, 2016) and co-author of Faith for Earth: A Call for Action (UN Environment Programme and Parliament of the World’s Religions, 2020). Kusumita has compiled and edited librettos for two works by Philip Glass: Symphony No. 5: Bardo, Requiem and Nirmāṇakāya (1999) and The Passion of Ramakrishna (2006). She has been a student of Sri Chinmoy (1931-2007) since 1971 and her study of his thought, The Philosophy of Sri Chinmoy: Love and Transformation, has recently been published by Lexington Books (2020)

DR. MARY EVELYN TUCKER teaches at Yale University at the School of the Environment and the Divinity School. She is co-director with John Grim of the Yale Forum on Religion and Ecology. With Grim she organized 10 conferences on World Religions and Ecology at Harvard. They were series editors for the 10 resulting volumes from Harvard. She co-edited Confucianism and Ecology, Buddhism and Ecology, and Hinduism and Ecology. She has authored with Grim, Ecology and Religion (Island Press, 2014). They also edited Thomas Berry’s books, including Selected Writings (Orbis 2014). Tucker and Grim published Thomas Berry: A Biography (Columbia University Press, 2019). With Brian Thomas Swimme, Tucker and Grim created a multi-media project Journey of the Universe that includes a book (Yale, 2011), an Emmy Award winning film, a series of podcast Conversations, and free online courses from Yale/Coursera. Tucker was a member of the Earth Charter Drafting committee and the International Earth Charter Council. She won the Inspiring Yale Teaching Award in 2015 and has been awarded 5 honorary degrees. With John Grim she was given a Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Society for the Study of Religion, Nature, and Culture. Mary Evelyn Tucker served as Faith for Earth’s Consulting Editor along with John Grim, Jeffery D. Long of Elizabethtown College, Brenda Ekwurzel of the Union of Concerned Scientists, and Edward Maibach of the Center for Climate Change Communication at George Mason University
